Key points
Of the 414 reported amendments to the manoeuvre bill, which are therefore considered a priority, 238 are from the majority groups. The first opportunity for confrontation is the summit on the afternoon of Thursday, 20 November. If for some topics there are strong points of agreement, for others the parties are - at the moment - in disagreement.
The Rai licence fee cut
As with the cut - by 20 euro, therefore from 90 to 70 euro annually - of the RAI licence fee. It is one of the 67 reported by the League, which had already pushed in this direction in last year's manoeuvre.
And as a year ago, Forza Italia was against it. 'I believe that the amount of the Rai licence fee should be maintained for market balance,' said the leader of the group in the Senate Maurizio Gasparri, 'there is a problem of balance of advertising resources. A few years ago the canon was reduced and Rai was compensated with resources from the Treasury and therefore from citizens. The public service must have certainty of resources as provided by the European Media Freedom Act. This amendment by the League, therefore, is not in line with the directive
The first signatory of the amendment, which envisages a coverage of EUR 430 million, was Giorgio Maria Bergesio, who said after the no vote that he was sorry 'for the aversion to our amendment. It is a common sense proposal to protect users. FI was once in favour of cutting taxes for citizens'.
The sale of Mes shares
Another 'flagship' of the League is the cession of Mes quotas (worth 15 billion) to increase the fund for reducing the tax burden over the next three years (thus 5 billion annually). This is also among the flags and was signed by Marco Dreosto.
