Manoeuvre, when we will have the first text: the work schedule
On Friday, meetings between the government and social partners will begin. The trade unions are expected at Palazzo Chigi at 4.30 p.m., while on Monday morning it will be the turn of the companies. The first text of the manoeuvre could be put on the table of the Cdm currently scheduled for 13 October
The government is speeding up and aims to conclude the manoeuvre by 15 October. A few days ahead of the 20 October deadline, the draft budget law should arrive on the table of the next Council of Ministers together with the Budget Planning Document (PDB) to be sent to Brussels. Meetings between the government and social partners will begin on Friday. The trade unions are expected at Palazzo Chigi at 4.30 p.m., while Monday morning it will be the turn of the companies. The first text of the manoeuvre could be put on the table of the Council of Ministers, currently scheduled for 14 afternoon, but pending the official convocation the date is still uncertain. Following this, the text will arrive in Parliament where it will be 'reworked' until the final launch by the end of the year
The Irpef cut
In view of the final rush, the majority took stock and met at Palazzo Chigi for about two and a half hours with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti to take stock and untangle the last knots. Forza Italia has secured the reduction of the Irpef rate from 35% to 33%, which is also central to the FdI agenda with deputy minister Maurizio Leo, but not the extension of the 60,000 euro bracket, which the Azzurri have been clamouring for but which they consider too costly.
Rottamazione
The League has obtained the 'rottamazione delle cartelle', which will be able to extend the payment schedule up to nine years in 108 instalments, but with a series of parameters that will limit the audience (and, indeed, the costs). 'It is not possible to imagine an endless rottamazione for the benefit of all, even in this case we must distinguish between the deserving and the undeserving,' said Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti
Pensioni
The government's goal is to sterilise the three-month increase in the retirement age, which would come into effect in 2027. On the adjustment of the retirement age, 'I would use the term selective sterilisation. There are not the more fortunate and the less fortunate, but there are the more deserving and the less deserving. I believe that hard-working and precocious workers should be treated differently,' said Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti in response to questions from parliamentarians at a hearing on the Dpfp
Family measures
Yesterday's shopping list also includes a group of measures for the family and the birthrate, which could weigh between 500 million and 1 billion. They include the reintroduction of the flat-rate registration tax for home purchases by those under 36 (the mortgage guarantee fund will also be refinanced) and the confirmation of optional parental leave at 80 per cent of salary for three months after the end of the mandatory one.
