The focus of the action is the strengthening of the instrument of the protection consortium, starting with the capacity to involve the operators of the individual GIs, with particular reference to the agro-food sector. In the awareness that the centrality of the protection consortium in the world of GIs will tend to increase in view of the increasingly complex challenges imposed by the globalisation of markets.

The benefits of the Marche region's protection consortia are mainly the promotion of product quality and authenticity, support for companies in accessing new markets, and consumer education for informed choice. In addition, they promote sustainable development and the protection of resources and the landscape.

At the end of the projects under the action, the protection consortia will have to prove that they have increased their social base by at least 5% with respect to the ex-ante situation (the figure taken as a reference is that of only the Marche Region operators registered with the consortium at the time the project is concluded compared to those registered on 30.6.2025).
