Projects may be submitted by consortia for the protection of geographical indications in the agri-food sector that have their registered office in the Marche Region or that have a share of certified production from the Marche Region exceeding 30% of the total certified production of the GI protected by the consortium (data from the last three years).

Consortia will have to be in possession of ministerial recognition and be entrusted with the task of carrying out the functions of promotion, valorisation, supervision, protection, consumer information and general care of the GI's interests, on the date of application and maintain this requirement throughout the duration of the project.

Wine protection consortia are excluded from the action.

The consortium, when submitting its application, must:

The following expenses are eligible: technical, legal and marketing consultancy; the purchase of goods and services for the implementation of activities; communication and promotion activities; the organisation of activities to animate and involve the local area, training and information on the application of the product specification and the regulations on geographical indications and on adherence to the control system; the preparation of the documentation necessary for the submission of any requests to amend the product specification; the planning and/or implementation of dissemination and communication activities to convey the consortium's objectives to potential members and the local population; the planning and/or implementation of activities to promote the GI.

The following activities are eligible: animation and involvement of the territory; market research and other activities for the development of the geographical indication; training and information on the application of the product specification and the legislation on geographical indications as well as on adherence to the control system; studies and other activities aimed at amending the product specification and preparing the necessary documentation; design and/or implementation of dissemination and communication activities to convey the objectives of the consortium to potential members and the local population; design and/or implementation of activities to promote the GI.

The application must be submitted exclusively on the Siar system by accessing http://siar.regione.marche.it via:

➢ uploading to SIAR of the data required by the application form;

➢ Uploading to SIAR of attachments;

➢ Subscription of the application by the applicant in digital form by means of a qualified digital signature device, issued by an appropriate certifying body in the digital field (CA - Certification Authority) accredited by AGID (RA - Registration Authority); it is the applicants' responsibility to verify in advance the compatibility of the chosen signature mode with the SIAR system.

During the project implementation phase, the consortium may submit an application for a project variation. Variations are considered to be changes to the original project that entail modifications to the criteria that made the initiative eligible for funding, provided they are NOT such as to jeopardise the eligibility for funding.
