A new production site in San Donà di Piave (Venice), soon to be opened, which will be the group's largest, will work in synergy with the plant in Fregona (Treviso). Margherita Spa, the historic Treviso-based company specialising in the production of pizzas and pizza-based products, grows: its 2024 financial statements close with a turnover of over 97 million euro (up 24% compared to 78 million in 2023).

The lion's share is taken by exports, which account for 90% of turnover. The domestic market, worth the remaining 10%, sees the Re Pomodoro brand consolidating its reputation as a synonym for quality and craftsmanship. A significant contribution to this was the acquisition in 2024 of ProPizza, a leading Abruzzi producer specialising in pizza and pinsa bases. The operation made it possible to satisfy the growing demand from the large-scale retail trade and the Ho.Re.Ca. channel.

The year 2025 opened with a further strategic operation: the acquisition by the parent company Idak of a company in Southern Italy that - in addition to strengthening - expands the product range and consolidates the company's market presence. In this framework, the new production site in San Donà di Piave is being added, for a growth that is also reflected in terms of employment: the number of employees, both direct and indirect, has risen from 427 to 491 in one year, with 60% of them female. Further recruitment is planned for the start-up of the new plant. The inclusive and participative welfare plan has brought each employee an average production bonus of EUR 1,440 net by 2024.

L’azienda

Margherita Soa currently produces around 200,000 pizzas and pizza products per day and expects double-digit growth in 2025. This development is accompanied by an ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, as confirmed by the recent Ecovadis 'silver medal' rating that sets the global standard for sustainable and resilient supply chains. The company is also committed to the reduction of plastic, the use of recycled paper packaging and the recovery of conservation oils for the production of biofuels in collaboration with Hera.

'Margherita's philosophy,' explains Managing Director Andrea Ghia, 'is not limited to the production of superior pizza and pizza-based products. Our commitment is also social and territorial: we aim for inclusion, sustainability and transparency, sharing goals and results with all employees. In fact, we believe that a company with this kind of approach towards people can achieve improvements not only in terms of production but also in the quality of working life'.
