Not only excellence in industry and great Italian entrepreneurship, but also commitment and dedication in study and school life: every year, together with the twenty-five newly appointed Knights of Labour, the best students in Italy are also awarded at the Quirinale: they are the Alfieri del Lavoro. Instituted by the National Federation of the Knights of Labour, the Alfieri del Lavoro Prize is awarded annually to 25 students who have finished high school with top marks.

In 2024 reported 3,404 students
.For 2024, school managers reported 3,404 students, of whom 3,225 met the requirements. Among them were 1,999 women and 1,226 men. The territorial origin of the 25 Alfieri 2024 is represented by 9 provinces in the North, 7 in the Centre and 9 in the South and Islands distributed in 16 regions. Of the awardees, 10 are women and 15 are men; 22 have a high school diploma and 3 a technical diploma. The averages of the twenty-five Alfieri del Lavoro of 2024 range from 9.81 to 10; 24 obtained honours in the State examination. The number of award-winners is linked to that of the Knights of Labour, marking the continuity of commitment in study and in life. The Alfieri del Lavoro receive a certificate of honour and the Medal of the President of the Republic. From 1961 to 2024, 1,608 Alfieri del Lavoro were designated.
