Biagio Mazzotta , who became Accountant General on 23 May 2019 after exactly 30 years of a management career in the rooms of Via XX Settembre, has reportedly reluctantly accepted the offer of the presidency of Fincantieri, left vacant in mid-June by the tragic death of General Claudio Graziano. If the converging rumours are confirmed Perrotta, born in 1977, would become the first woman to occupy the top box at the General Accounting Office.

Relations between Mazzotta and the government have been complicated for some time, to the point that speculation of his departure has been circulating cyclically for a year now. The main accusation against the current Accountant General is the Superbonus, or rather the soaring costs compared to initial estimates.
