From mechatronics to ICT to cybersecurity. We are at the Its Academy in Lanciano, in the province of Chieti, where courses are designed and implemented together with the most important regional manufacturing companies in the automotive, mechanical engineering, components, pharmaceutical, agri-food and manufacturing sectors, as well as digital services and cybersecurity.
The Innovation Training Centre
.An absolute novelty is the recent opening in Val di Sangro of the 'Innovation Training Centre' at the Stellantis industrial complex in Atessa. Here students will be trained, but also, and this is a novelty, workers through continuous training at the service of companies.
Top employment
.The institute is now a consolidated reality in Abruzzo, every year it trains over 250 young technicians on the professional profiles most in demand in the regional production system; it has an employment level of its graduates at 95% (one year after graduation) and is active on four sites (Lanciano, Chieti, Avezzano and Teramo).
Motivated boys (and girls)
."We are looking for highly motivated boys, and not just boys in truth, but also girls,'' said Antonio Maffei, director of the Its in Lanciano, ''because unfortunately our technology area is often counted among the male-dominated ones, but this is not the case. And clearly, in addition to motivation, the boys must embrace the challenge of a very concentrated Its path, which, however, leads them to develop skills to enter the world of work through the front door and thus aspire to a qualified and clearly well-paid job'.
