Mechatronics linked to the territory

"I believe in this experimentation. Also because the role of the school must be to innovate. We cannot always be in defence of what we already know'. Maria Rosaria Villani, headmistress of the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore 'Alessandro Volta', the largest technical institute in Frosinone, is firmly convinced of the new opportunities that the 4+2 formula will be able to provide for her students. "We started with a class of 16 pupils in the mechanics and mechatronics field. Also because in Lazio there is the Its Mechatronics, of which we are partners. Those who decide to complete the four-year formula with us, if they want to continue after graduation, will find as a natural pathway the next two years of this Its". An Its, that of mechatronics in Lazio, which has so far been able to guarantee employment for all its students. But the opportunities do not end there. "There is also an agreement with the University of Cassino. Those who complete the two-year course at the Its Mechatronic and want to continue their studies, get the first year of mechanical engineering," explains the headmaster. "Those who complete the four-year experimental course will have nothing less than those who choose the five-year course'. So much so that Villani looks ahead: "We already have pupils asking us to switch to the four-year route. If the experimentation goes well, next year we could involve more addresses and more classes, such as those of the electrical engineering address,' he concludes.
