Idf: 'Ground offensive in Gaza expanded'
The Israeli army (IDF) announced that it has expanded its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip over the past day. The announcement - the Times of Israel points out - comes after the IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, yesterday ordered the army to operate in new areas of Gaza.
"Over the past day, troops have extended ground manoeuvres, eliminated terrorists and destroyed numerous weapons depots and terrorist infrastructure, both above and below ground," the army reports.
The IDF added that in the last day, the Israeli Air Force hit dozens of targets throughout Gaza, including terrorist cells, buildings used by terrorist groups, tunnels, weapons depots, and other infrastructure.
Palestinian media: Idf advances in Khan Younis

Al Jazeera then reported a series of raids during the night on Gaza city, and so far there are at least five deaths, including a child. The Israeli armed forces have not yet commented, reports Times of Israel.
