SpringHill, the entertainment company of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, has agreed a merger of equals with Fulwell 73, the British television, film and music production company responsible for programmes such as "The Kardashians" and "Carpool Karaoke".
The deal was initiated by SpringHill co-founder Maverick Carter and Fulwell 73 co-founder Ben Winston. Carter will be co-CEO of the new company together with Leo Pearlman, managing partner of Fulwell.
Among the backers of the new Anglo-American film and television company are Nike, RedBird Capital Partners and Liverpool FC owner Fenway.
On Monday, LeBron's US-based SpringHill Company will announce a merger with Fulwell 73, a British film, television and music production company owned by a group that includes actor James Corden and producer Leo Pearlman.
As part of the merger, shareholders will invest an additional $40 million to help the company grow. "I don't think there is an independent production company in the world that can boast as strong a group of financial partners as this merger will have," Pearlman told the Financial Times. "It's an incredible array of people who are jumping into this new business."
