Medicine, 707 vacancies after first round of registrations
One third of the unopted vacancies are in Rome: more than 100 at Sapienza, over 200 at Tor Vergata (including 124 for Tirana)
Key points
At the end of the first round of registration and enrolment for the second semester of Medicine, 707 places remained unfilled. Places that are now back on the line for students who were cut out of the first allocation because, although eligible (i.e. with at least one promotion in the three exams of Physics, Chemistry and Biology), they occupied a position too low in the national ranking published on 8 January to be assigned a place. The same will happen for 171 slots for Dentistry and 106 for Veterinary Medicine.
Next steps
The first phase covered almost 19,000 students between Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine on places reserved for EU and non-EU citizens. Not all of them chose the seat they had been assigned on the basis of their initial scores and preferences. The second phase will take place until Monday 19 January. By that date each student will be able to check on his or her personal Universitaly page the locations with places still available and express his or her preference.
Assignment will take place in accordance with the order of the ranking list and the preferences indicated. Assigned students will be able to proceed with registration between 21 and 24 January.
Free places
Limiting ourselves to Medicine of the 707 vacancies, almost a third concern Rome. To the 100 and more places of the Sapienza University in its various courses and locations concerned go the almost 200 of Tor Vergata. With the case of "Tirana" partly resizing itself. Of the 220 slots up for grabs, a good 124 would have remained unopted.
