Medicine: enrolment for the foundation semester closes on 3 August
The courses will start on 1 September and will end no later than ten days before the first exam session (scheduled for 10 December)
Key points
Enrolment for the 2026/27 Medicine foundation year is now open. Students have until 3 August to enrol via the Universitaly.it portal. The deadline for paying the flat-rate fee of 250 euros is 6 August.
The rest of the timetable has also been finalised: the courses will begin on 1 September and will end no later than ten days before the first exam session, scheduled for 10 December. The second exam session will take place on 11 January.
The decree for the 2026/2027 academic year essentially confirms the structure in place for 2025/26: open access to courses, subject to passing the exams in Physics, Chemistry, Introductory Biochemistry and Biology, for final enrolment. However, it introduces a number of new measures, some of which are the result of consultation with students.
The main changes
Teaching activities will begin on 1 September and must be completed no later than ten days before the first exam session, scheduled for 10 December. The second exam session will take place on 11 January. Compared with last year, therefore, the teaching period has been extended and the dates of the two exam sessions have been brought forward. They had previously been scheduled for 20 November and 10 December.
There are also changes to the exam papers. There will still be 31 questions, but there will be 10 fill-in-the-blank questions and 21 multiple-choice questions, rather than 15 fill-in-the-blank and 16 multiple-choice as planned a year ago. Each correct answer will be worth one mark, meaning students can achieve a maximum mark of 30 with distinction.
