Medicine, 90% of places occupied by those who have passed at least two examinations
Just under 23,000 students passed at least one in three examinations for admission to Medicine
by Eugenio Bruno and Lorenzo Pace
Key points
There are 22,688, out of approximately 60,000, students who have been deemed 'eligible' for admission to the Medicine Faculty, i.e. those who have passed at least one examination between Biology, Chemistry and Physics during the two filter semester examinations and will therefore be able to apply for enrolment in the second semester.
Among those, who have received the communication with their assigned university, are also students with one or two debts, i.e. with one or two subjects to be recovered by the end of February in order to actually matriculate.
90% of available places occupied by those who have passed two exams
It should also be borne in mind that the total number of places made available for state universities is 17,278 and therefore, of those eligible, approximately five thousand will have to choose a related course.
Approximately 7,600 students have passed all exams (and can already register), while just under 8,000 have passed two tests. Together, therefore, they occupy about90% of the available places.
Few eligible for Physics
The make-up exams for Physics will be decisive. Only 10,022 scored at least an 18 out of 31 on the test, about half of Biology (19,089) and Chemistry (21,763). Critical issues were also reiterated by University Minister Anna Maria Bernini, who will talk to the rectors about these results.
