Medvedev: the risks of a world war are very high
Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with Tass that the global situation could get out of hand
The global situation could spiral out of control and the risks of a world war are very high. This was said by Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with Tass.
"It is true that we have recently resumed contacts with the United States, which can only cheer us up," he added. "And we are holding consultations on a wide range of issues, including the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. But the overall situation is very dangerous," the former Russian president noted. "Unfortunately, a global conflict cannot be ruled out, and I think the risks are very high and have not diminished."
Zelensky: 'Russia responsible for escalation, evil must be stopped'
"The attack by a Russian drone on an ordinary bus carrying miners in the Dnipro region is an eloquent crime that proves once again that Russia is responsible for the escalation. The evil must be stopped'. Ukrainian President Volodydmr Zelensky wrote this on X, confirming that 'there is an agreement for a trilateral meeting at the appropriate level in the Emirates next week: February will be a very busy period of foreign policy activity'.
"We expect the Americans to be equally active, particularly when it comes to de-escalation measures, the reduction of raids. A lot depends on what the US will be able to achieve, so that we can have confidence in both the process and the outcome." The second round of talks, which was supposed to be held today, has been set for the 4th and 5th of this month in Abu Dhabi.
