Melinda, Piero Lovisolo appointed as the new general manager

Piero Lovisolo is the new general manager of the Consorzio Melinda and the La Trentina cooperative. The decision, endorsed by the boards of directors of both organisations, now marks the start of the process to formalise the appointment, with the manager due to join the company in October, to coincide with the launch of the new marketing campaign.
Born in Alessandria in 1963, Piero Lovisolo has over forty years’ managerial experience in the food and fast-moving consumer goods sectors, with expertise gained in business management, internationalisation and marketing. His career has included roles at companies such as Ferrero, Galbani, San Carlo-Unichips, Palmera, Kimbo, Toschi Vignola and De Fonseca.
Lovisolo – as a press release points out – will work in close collaboration with the chief operating officer of the Melinda Consortium and La Trentina, Massimiliano Gremes, formerly the system’s coordinator, ensuring continuity in management and making the professional expertise he has gained over the years available to the system.
“I am taking on this new role at Melinda and La Trentina with great enthusiasm and a desire to put the expertise I have gained over many years of experience in the food sector – in Italia and, above all, abroad – at the service of the organisation. I firmly believe in the power of brands, in product positioning and in the ability to further enhance their identity and recognition. This is where I would like to start, working together to strengthen the value of the organisation even further,” said Lovisolo.
