"In today's Cabina di Regia we are presenting the proposal for the revision of the NRP, which will then be forwarded to Parliament for its assessments and then sent to the European Commission for approval. The revision proposal follows the indications that the European Commission provided on 4 June last, and is the result of the reconnaissance activity carried out by the Pnrr mission structure together with all the ministries and administrations in charge of measures and projects". This was said by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the work of the Cabina di Regia at Palazzo Chigi. "The proposed revision of the NRP has a total value of EUR 14 billion, equal to 7% of the Plan. This is a necessary adjustment, taking into account that the Plan was conceived in a completely different political and economic context that continues to change,' explained the Minister for European Affairs, the NRP and Cohesion Policies, Tommaso Foti.
"The proposed revision allows critical issues to be overcome"
.The Prime Minister emphasised that the proposed revision of the NRP 'allows us to overcome several critical issues and allocate resources more efficiently, including through the use of new financial instruments. In particular, we have envisaged the inclusion of new measures that can be implemented within the very tight timeframe envisaged by the Plan and the strengthening of those interventions that are producing results that exceed expectations, with particular attention to competitiveness, the strengthening of infrastructure, and the social and territorial cohesion of our nation'. This was said by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni speaking during the proceedings of the Regia Committee.
"It is a job with which we aim to maintain the European leadership achieved so far by Italy in the implementation of the NRP, which was also recently recognised by the International Monetary Fund, which spoke of a 'rigorous implementation of the Plan' by Italy. In these three years of government, we have achieved 100 per cent of the planned targets,' the PM added.
Foti: no cuts in Pnrr review
"We are at the last stage of the revision of the NRP. After numerous evaluations - Parliament will then have the final word - in the proposal we are presenting there are no cuts in ambition and therefore the Plan remains at 194.4 billion, as originally established," Foti added, in his speech in the control room.
