Mercedes-Benz: 417,800 cars sold in the second quarter (-8%), electric car sales up 51%

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The Mercedes-Benz Group sold 417,800 cars in the second quarter of 2026, down 8 per cent on a year ago, and 94,600 vans (+1 per cent). Specifically, looking at cars alone, there was an increase in North America (+13%), Europe (+4%) and Germany (+6%), whilst in China sales were down 30% compared with a year ago (98,600). A total of 52,900 electric cars were sold (+51%), with an 87 per cent increase in Europe and sales doubling in Germany.
The overall share of EVs in total car sales rose to almost 13 per cent from 7.7 per cent in the second quarter of last year.
