Mercedes-Benz VLE, anything but a van: electric limousine between technology and comfort
It is the first vehicle built on the new Van Architecture and boasts the Mercedes-Benz Operating System based on artificial intelligence on board.
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled VLE, the new electric limousine built on the modular Van Architecture platform, combining the size and spaciousness of a multi-purpose vehicle with the comfort typical of luxury saloons.
Design and comfort
The vehicle has a low, aerodynamic silhouette with a drag coefficient of 0.25.
The dimensions are generous: 5,309 mm long (a 5,484 mm long version will arrive at a later date), 1,999 mm wide, 1,943 mm high and with a wheelbase of 3,342 mm. Depending on the configuration chosen, VLE with three rows of seats offers a load volume of up to 795 litres. If, on the other hand, all manual seats are removed, the available space goes up to 4,078 litres, offering ample room for luggage or sports equipment.
The front includes a redesigned grille and star-shaped daytime running lights, while the rear features an arched headlamp assembly with a distinctive light strip. The bonnet incorporates two power domes that contribute to the limousine's road presence.
Up to eight seats on board
The cabin can accommodate up to eight passengers and offers a large panoramic Sky View roof. Ambient lighting creates an airy and relaxing atmosphere. The rear seats include the Roll & Go system for manual movement and electric options controllable via app or infotainment system. The Grand Comfort Seat version offers massage, lumbar support, wireless charging and leg support.
