The ranking of Michelin-starred restaurants is a little shaky. Lombardy is confirmed as the region with the largest number of restaurants, a good 61. Campania maintains the second position with 50 starred restaurants thanks to a three-star, 7 two-star and 42 one-star, while this year Tuscany overtook Piedmont. The former has 44 restaurants, thanks to a three-star, 5 two-star and 38 one-star while Piedmont has 35 starred chefs distributed as follows: 2 three-star, 3 two-star, 30 with one star. The top five is closed by Veneto with 34 starred restaurants of which 2 with three stars, 3 two stars, 29 with one star.

Lombardy's extension is made possible by the entry of nine new establishments in the guide that have been awarded a star. These are Grow Restaurant in Albiate (Monza and Brianza), Il Circolino in Monza, Olmo in Cornaredo (Milan), Cucina Cereda in Ponte San Pietro (Bergamo), Moebius experimental in Milan, Acqua in Olgiate Olona (Varese), Sine by Pinto in Milan, Casa Leali in Puegnago sul Garda (Brescia) and Tancredi in Sirmione (Brescia).

"With 9 new awards assigned by the famous Michelin Guide, Lombardy is at the top of the list of the most star-studded regions and therefore with an increasing number of restaurants certified for their excellent cuisine," commented Barbara Mazzali, Regional Councillor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion. "This is an important recognition for a Lombardy industry, the food and wine industry, which is also an extraordinary lever of tourism for our Region, which from today enriches its first-class offer.

The Villa Elena restaurant in Bergamo, led by resident chef Marco Galtarossa, born in 1989, who has been on Enrico Bartolini's team for four years, and restaurant manager Filippo Maria Casè, goes from one to two stars. The dishes represent an interpretation of modern taste, local ingredients and Italian tradition. In the Brescia area, in Puegnago sul Garda, there is Villa Leali of the Leali brothers, who have won their first star. Andrea is in the kitchen while Marco is in charge of the dining room and wine cellar. Famous is the barbecue oyster, an unmissable starter to be enjoyed in fine weather during a meal by the pool. A few kilometres away at Sirmione on the lakeshore is Tancredi with chef Vincenzo Manicone from the province of Varese in the kitchen.

There is no shortage of special awards for promising young chefs, including Matteo Vergine of the Grow Restaurant in Albiate, in the province of Monza and Brianza. In the 2024 edition he won the green star while in the 2025 edition he was awarded the 'Michelin young chef award'. His is an original cuisine that mixes creativity and tradition through marinating, fermentation and pickling, enhancing the natural flavours of the ingredients. Oscar Mazzoleni's Carroponte in Bergamo was awarded the 'Michelin sommelier award 2025', offered by the Franciacorta Consortium, for his continuous search for novelty.
