Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman's speech was interrupted by a pro-Palestinian employee protesting during the technology company's 50th anniversary celebration on Friday over the company's ties with Israel.
"You are a war profiteer. Stop using artificial intelligence for genocide,' said Microsoft employee Ibtihal Aboussad at the event in Redmond, Washington, interrupting Suleyman who was talking about the company's artificial intelligence assistant.
Suleyman responded by saying: 'I heard your protest, thank you'. The protesting employee was then escorted away.
An Associated Press investigation revealed earlier this year that artificial intelligence models from Microsoft and OpenAI were used as part of an Israeli military programme to select bombing targets during the wars in Gaza and Lebanon.
