Milan: Calabresi, stand for election? I’ll think about it; I’d like to do my bit

‘Stand for election? Lots of people ask me that on the street, and I reply that yes, I’m thinking about it. I am considering it and I’d like to do my bit for Milan – it’s important to me. That said, the path forward isn’t yet clear – how we’ll get there, whether or not there will be primaries – and we’ll find all that out after the summer. I’m respectfully waiting to see what’s decided, what path will be chosen, and whether the opportunity will arise.”

Mario Calabresi made this statement whilst responding to journalist Francesca Martelli regarding the possibility of standing as a candidate for mayor of Milan in the forthcoming local elections, during a debate at the Festa dell’Unità Milano Sud-Est.
