Balich, Filmmaster and Casta Diva Group. Three leading companies have been chosen to realise the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The next Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Milan Cortina 2026 now have the organisers of the ceremonies for which, says the communiqué of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Foundation, 'three different venues have been chosen that in various ways tell the story, not only sporting, of the country. It will be the San Siro stadium in Milan that will turn on its spotlights on 6 February 2026 for the Olympic opening ceremony. The Arena di Verona will instead host the Olympic closing ceremony on 22 February and the opening ceremony of the Paralympics on 6 March. The historic Ice Stadium of Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the Dolomites and inaugurated in 1956 on the occasion of the Winter Olympics, will host the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games on 15 March. "These four great moments of spectacle," reads the press release, "will involve billions of people and will tell, in various ways, all the wonderful territories of Milano Cortina 2026 and offer the opportunity to present to the world some extraordinary places of sport and Italian cultural heritage. In this framework, the Milan Cortina 2026 Foundation has chosen "for the production of the four iconic moments, three of the most qualified and experienced agencies in this field. Balich Wonder Studio will in fact be the company entrusted with the production of the Olympic Opening Ceremony in Milan; Filmmaster will produce the Olympic Closing Ceremony and the Paralympic Opening Ceremony in Verona and G2 Eventi - Casta Diva Group will produce the Paralympic Closing Ceremony in Cortina. "We are very excited to collaborate with such qualified partners who have understood our vision perfectly. We are confident that they will contribute with their talent, creativity and great experience to make the Ceremonies of Milano Cortina 2026 unique and to promote the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games," explained Maria Laura Iascone, Ceremonies director of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026. In the months leading up to the start of the Games, the Olympic flame will travel throughout Italy. "The journey of the flame will ignite the Olympic excitement in the hearts of Italians, celebrate the beauty of our country and tell the stories of the thousands of torchbearers who will have the honour of participating in the relay. The project of the journey of the Olympic and Paralympic flame has been entrusted to the Alphaomega company, which, in partnership with the Rnk company, will support the Milan Cortina 2026 Foundation. In the meantime, yesterday there was a new inspection with the IOC at the Sliding Centre in Cortina d'Ampezzo, the bobsleigh, skeleton and luge track that will be used in view of the Games. "The works are proceeding according to schedule," said Commissioner and ad Simico, Fabio Saldini.
