"We have carried out work to secure the artefact, with the cooperation of the speleo-aplinistico-fluvial nucleus, this safety work will be completed by the end of the day, it will be finished and the certification will be issued by a professional: the authorisation should arrive this evening and the reopening will probably be carried out tomorrow".
This was announced at a press conference by the provincial commander of the Milan fire brigade, Calogero Turturici, following the collapse of the Generali sign on the roof of the Hadid skyscraper.
"They are also building support structures on the other façade where the other sign is located. We don't know if there is a real risk, but it is an additional support to 'shore up'". Turturici pointed out. "A lattice structure that supports one of the two signs has collapsed, there does not seem to have been any repercussions on the rest of the tower. The metal structure, which actually weighs hundreds of tonnes, has been lying on the roof because some of the bonds that supported it have failed, we have put new ones in place. The causes may be many, they need to be investigated and we have no specific assignment: we have never spoken of high temperatures'.
