Milano Statale and Human Technopole join forces for research and training

The University of Milan (Statale) and Human Technopole have signed a partnership agreement for research and training. The new agreement, which supersedes and replaces the previous one, will run for six years and aims in particular to promote joint activities in the main fields of scientific research, with specific reference to the life sciences, materials sciences, biomedical sciences and environmental sciences. This is all part of a drive to strengthen the already close collaboration within Mind – Milan Innovation District, where the University of Milan’s new science campus will be built alongside Human Technopole.

“Within Mind, we share the ambition to build a unique environment in which scientific, technological and educational expertise can be integrated and mutually reinforcing,” comments Marina Brambilla, Rector of the University of Milan, in a statement. In addition to the development of joint research projects – to be carried out, amongst other things, through participation in competitive national and international calls for proposals – the memorandum provides for staff mobility, mutual access to research infrastructure and laboratories, the establishment of joint training programmes and the organisation of scientific events such as seminars, workshops and symposia.

“The new agreement establishes a solid framework for bringing together complementary expertise, sharing advanced scientific infrastructure and developing new joint projects, whilst offering students and early-career researchers an interdisciplinary environment in which to train, exchange ideas and projects, and help tackle some of the key challenges in the field of health and life sciences,” said Marino Zerial, Director of Human Technopole.
