The FTSE MIB was driven higher not only by the prospect of peace in the Middle East drawing ever closer and the fall in crude oil prices on the back of hopes that the Strait of Hormuz might reopen, but also, once again, by the banking sector’s volatility. Among today’s top performers, Unicredit (+4.17%) and Intesa (+2.91%) stand out, followed closely by MPS (+1.52%) and BPM (+1.89%).
