Milei confirms Argentina-US alliance and announces 90 structural reforms
The president then announced that he would promote parliamentary ratification of the trade and investment agreement signed with the US on 5 February
Argentine President Javier Milei confirmed on Sunday his 'strategic' alliance with the United States in the context of the 'new world order' and anticipated that he will promote in Congress this year 90 structural reforms to shape the 'architecture of Argentine greatness'. This was reported by the Spanish news agency Efe. 'All this,' the Argentine president added, 'requires a lasting strategic alliance. That is what we are building with the United States. It is not just about an agreement between President Donald Trump and Milei. It has to do with the cultural affinity and strategic goals between two countries and the entire region,' he said in his opening address to the regular session of the Argentine Congress.
In front of the Legislative Assembly - a meeting of the two parliamentary chambers - Milei said that 'a new world order is taking shape' and how Argentina fits into it 'will determine the country's fate'. Milei then announced that he would promote the parliamentary ratification of the trade and investment agreement signed with the United States on 5 February.
