On the instructions of Minister Adolfo Urso, the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy has convened the Stellantis Table for Thursday 14 November at Palazzo Piacentini. This was announced by the ministry. Representatives of the company, the regions where the production plants are located, trade union organisations and Anfia (National Association of the Italian Automotive Industry) have been invited to attend.

Schlein, stigmatise Elkann's attitude

Meanwhile, the political clash has not abated after Stellantis chairman John Elkann decided not to speak at a hearing in the Chamber of Deputies. "We must stigmatise the attitude of Stellantis chairman John Elkann" who declined the request for a hearing in Parliament "on the grounds that there would be no news," said PD secretary Elly Schlein, speaking this morning in the House's Productive Activities Committee, meeting with the Senate's Industry Committee. "Only four days after his hearing," she stressed, "CEO Tavares started talking on the radio about not ruling out layoffs," and in the meantime there had been "an incredible and inexplicable cut of 4.6 billion from the automotive fund by the government. 'Two pieces of news,' Schlein added, 'that deserved a confrontation. The Pd secretary then thanked the chairman of the Productive Activities Committee, Gusmeroli, 'if he wants to insist', as announced, with the request for a hearing of President Elkann.

Gusmeroli, I will renew Elkann's request for a hearing

The Productive Activities Committee of the Chamber of Deputies 'will renew the request for a hearing' of the president of the Stellantis group, announced Gusmeroli, reading at the opening of the session the letter, made public yesterday, with which Elkann announced that he would not be coming to Parliament to be heard on the situation of the automotive industry in Italy. 'I believe,' he said, 'that he feels the history of a group that has given so much to Italy over the years but has received so much from Italy, and so also for these reasons I think it is useful to talk to all parliamentary forces.
