Minetti case, Quirinale: no re-evaluation of the pardon after Milan Judge
The Colle notes: no unusual secrecy on the matter
"The President of the Republic, who had publicly asked the ministry of Justice - whom he thanks for having promptly done so - to arrange new investigations, has respectfully taken note of the conclusions of the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office, on the basis of which there are no reasons for a reassessment of the clemency measure adopted, reaffirming its trust in the judiciary'. This is what is stated in a note with which the Quirinale definitively archives the case of the clemency to Nicole Minetti.
The Colle also emphasises an aspect that had been at the centre of controversy and that is that 'for the decree of pardon in question, the Quirinale did not deviate from its usual behaviour, without any unusual secrecy: in most cases of the granting of pardons, no communiqué is issued by the Quirinale, due to the presence of sensitive data - illnesses, family events and relationships, involvement of children and other delicate aspects - that must be dutifully kept away from disclosure'.
