Minister Valditara: '4+2 in 539 more schools'
From the next school year, the reform of the technical-professional supply chain becomes statutory
As of next school year, the reform of the technical-vocational supply chain will become ordinal: 539 new schools have been authorised to start the 4 plus 2; if we add the new auorised courses to those already activated, we come close to 1000 units. This was stated by Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara speaking this morning via video link-up at the event 'Visione turismo: politiche, territori, competenze, futuro' (Tourism vision: policies, territories, skills, future) organised on the initiative of Senator Gian Marco Centinaio.
The reform
The reform, Valditara explained, "aims to train those operators that the world of tourism and hospitality are in extraordinary need of, it means training in a modern way, entering the world of work a year in advance and a strong preparation. We have focused on quality rather than quantity, as is done in the best experiences abroad; for the first time the school curriculum will be defined between the company, the Its and the school of reference. For the first time a company manager will be able to teach in the school, and at the same time we are strengthening Italian, mathematics and English and introducing soft skills. We have started a strong internationalisation process and a connection with the Its with many resources: we believe strongly in higher technological education. After the four years you can enter the world of work, of course, or you can continue studying'.
Land enhancement
The minister recalled 'our constant attention to the enhancement of the territory: we have introduced for the first time the knowledge of one's own territory, municipality, district, starting from monuments and what characterises its identity; we have rethought the geography course, which must mean knowing the rivers, lakes, cities, mountains, the opportunities that the territory offers. In order to enhance the specificities of the territories, we have thought of 0 km canteens and the 'made in Mim' brand that we want to make known to foreign tourists, products that express the quality of artisanal production We have committed significant resources, 219 million euro for hotel institutes and 183 million for agrarian institutes'.
