Mirai Job, young people choose green, boom for environment and sustainability
Focusing on work orientation and aimed at students in the fourth and fifth classes of Calabrian high schools, the project sees Calabria as a pilot region for Italia, implemented by Planet Multimedia
Young people are choosing green and sustainability: this is what emerges from the data collected by the Mirai Job Game project, presented in Rome at the Festival del Lavoro. Focusing on job orientation and aimed at students in the fourth and fifth year of secondary schools in Calabria, the project, which sees Calabria as a pilot region for Italia, was conceived and promoted by the Regional Department of Employment, Enterprise and Productive Areas of the Calabria Region and implemented by Planet Multimedia, through a structured path of orientation, training and comparison with the world of professions and with the direct involvement of students, teachers and school managers. The name is not a random choice: the word 'Mirai' in Japanese means 'future' and is used to wish for a life full of opportunities and success.
Initiative passed by the Job Centres
The initiative was carried out through the Job Centres, which entered schools to carry out orientation activities and support students in understanding vocational and training opportunities. One of the main activities was the 'Mirai Job Game', an educational competition among students with quizzes and challenges on the topics of work, skills and safety at school, road safety and in the workplace, also using innovative teaching methodologies, such as gamification, based on active participation and experiential learning.
The myth of the fixed job is weakened
The data that emerged from the game and orientation sessions draw a clear picture of their expectations: contrary to the myth of the 'fixed job at all costs', the young people showed a strong propensity for autonomy and innovation. Green & Sustainability Manager: there was a real boom of preferences for this professional figure.
Great attention to environmental impact and the circular economy
They are deeply aware of the environmental impact and are aiming for professions related to the circular economy and ecological transition. Another very popular profession is that of Digital & AI Marketing Specialist: everything that combines creativity and algorithms. Brand management in the metaverse or through artificial intelligence is among the most popular profiles in the game. And then the figure of the Territorial Marketing and Enogastronomy 4.0 Expert: there is a strong return of pride for one's roots and a great sense of belonging. Many young people express the desire to stay in Calabria, but applying modern technologies to enhance the territory, tourism and the Mediterranean Diet.
