US military injured in Iranian raid on Saudi Arabian base

An Iranian attack against a base in Saudi Arabia injured at least 12 US soldiers, two of them seriously. This was reported by the US media. Iran has been carrying out retaliatory attacks against the Gulf nations, accused of serving as a launching pad for US attacks against the country, which began with a joint operation with Israel on 28 February. The attack on the Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia involved at least one missile and several drones, according to reports in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, which cite unidentified sources. The soldiers were inside a building on the base at the time of the attack, the Wall Street Journal reported. Several in-flight refuelling planes were also reportedly damaged in the attack. Saudi Arabia had previously intercepted several missiles fired near the base. Thirteen US military personnel have been killed since the beginning of the conflict with Iran, seven in the Gulf and six in Iraq. Over 300 have been wounded. The Iranian government has not published an updated death toll, but a US-based activist group said on 23 March that some 1,167 Iranian soldiers had been killed and that the fate of 658 others was unknown.

Five people were injured by debris from an Iranian missile interceptor in the Khalifa financial district in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Authorities reported that a fire broke out as a result of the falling debris. According to the authorities, the injured are Indian nationals.

Iran: Unicef, over 370,000 children forced to leave their homes in Lebanon

"In just three weeks, more than 370,000 children have been forced to leave their homes in Lebanon, on average at least 19,000 girls and boys are displaced every day. To realise the scale of the phenomenon, it is as if every 24 hours hundreds of school buses full of children are running for their lives'. This is what Marcoluigi Corsi, Unicef's representative in Lebanon, says in a note. In less than a month, about 20 per cent of Lebanon's population has been displaced, he added, stressing that 'the speed and scale of this phenomenon are staggering'. Across the country, more than 1 million people are now displaced, many of them for the second, third or even fourth time. This is a sudden and chaotic mass displacement, which is separating families and emptying entire communities, with consequences that will be felt long after the violence has subsided, Unicef points out.

"The mental and emotional exhaustion weighing on the children of Lebanon is devastating. Without even having had a moment to recover from the trauma of the last escalation, which took place just 15 months ago, (the children) are again being forcibly uprooted. This relentless cycle of bombardment and displacement is severely aggravating their psychological wounds, entrenching a deep-seated fear and threatening to cause serious and lasting emotional damage," remarked Unicef's representative in Lebanon, Marcoluigi Corsi.

Today, more than 135,000 IDPs, many of them children, have found shelter in more than 660 collective shelters. Living conditions are increasingly difficult. Many displaced families live in informal, overcrowded and insecure settings, including buildings under construction, public spaces and vehicles. Lebanon's economic crisis and worn-out infrastructure were already limiting the country's ability to meet basic needs; today, that infrastructure is crumbling under the pressure, Unicef points out, the essential services that children need for their survival and their future are being severely disrupted. In areas such as the Bekaa and Baalbek, shelling has destroyed critical water tanks and pumping stations, depriving tens of thousands of people of access to clean water. Moreover, with some 435 public schools now serving as drop-in centres, the education of over 115,000 students has been abruptly interrupted.

Iran, Pentagon says third Tehran missile arsenal destroyed

The United States believes it is safe to say that it has destroyed about one-third of Iran's vast missile arsenal as the war waged with Israel against the Islamic Republic nears the one-month mark. This was reported by five sources with knowledge of US intelligence to the Reuters news agency.

According to four of the sources, the situation of another third of the arsenal is less clear, but the bombing probably damaged, destroyed or buried those missiles in tunnels and underground bunkers.

The assessment, the same sources report, indicates that although most of Iran's missiles would have been destroyed or rendered inaccessible, Tehran still retains a significant missile inventory and could recover some of the buried or damaged launchers once the fighting ceases.

One of the sources added that a similar assessment also covers Iran's drone capability, with a degree of certainty about the destruction of about one third of the systems.

Iran in cyber space: war and chaos, the key to the new cyber threat

Cybersecurity and secure nerwork concept. Data protection, gdrp. Glowing futuristic backround with lock on digital integrated circuit.

In the international debate on digital security, cyber operations attributed to the Islamic Republic of Iran have often assumed apocalyptic tones, portrayed as immediate and catastrophic threats. However, a deeper analysis paints a less spectacular but more multifaceted picture: Iran does not aim for disruptive destructive strikes, but for constant, modular pressure, a scalable chaos that acts as an instrument of political and economic influence.

According to the report 'Iran cyber operations: effectiveness, limitations and implications' by the cybersecurity team of Maticmind - a Zenita Group company - in the peak of the escalation in February-March 2026, over six hundred attack claims were recorded in just seven days, attributed to forty-seven different groups, with nine active state clusters and eleven countries affected. The operational volume exceeded fifty claims per day, despite the fact that Iranian Internet connectivity had plummeted to 1-4 per cent. Behind these numbers, explains Pierguido Iezzi, cybersecurity director at Maticmind, there is a precise strategic logic: "The key is not to read Iranian cyber as an autonomous weapon, but as a component of a pattern effectively summarised in the Persian expression Jang and Ashub, war and chaos. Tools to produce pressure, saturation and negotiating leverage without necessarily crossing the threshold of outright conflict. The strategic value of the Iranian posture lies not so much in the ability to achieve a decisive destructive effect, but in the possibility of combining cyber operations, proxies, psychological pressure, information disorder and persistent access to wear down the adversary, increase its cost of defence and condition its decision-making process'.

All the times Trump's words have influenced the markets. And someone gained from it

From the attacks in Iran to tariffs to the capture of Maduro, Donald Trump's sudden decisions influence markets by causing sudden changes of course. The point is that, on several occasions, streams of unusual trades have been recorded before his announcements and not after, notes the Wall Street journal. And the last case dates back to 23 March 2026, writes the WSJ.

On Monday morning, Trump announced on Truth Social that he would postpone attacks on Iranian power plants due to 'productive' talks with Tehran. About 15 minutes before the post, a sudden flurry of activity hit the oil futures market and within two minutes from 6:49 a.m. to 6:51 a.m. Eastern Time, futures on Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate worth over $760 million were traded, according to Dow Jones market data. A similar surge of activity occurred simultaneously in futures on the S&P 500. For the detractors, someone knew in advance of the tycoon's move and was illicitly profiting from it, although there is no evidence of leaks or insider trading.

Iran, WPost: US uses too many Tomahawks, there is concern

The US military has launched more than 850 Tomahawk cruise missiles in the four-week war with Iran, consuming these precision weapons at a rate that has alarmed a section of the Pentagon and opened internal discussions on how to rapidly increase their availability. The Washington Post writes this today, citing informed sources.

The intense deployment of Tomahawks is forcing urgent reflection on the need to move some of them from other theatres, including the Indo-Pacific, and to strengthen their production in the long term, said the Washington Post.

Tomahawks, which can be launched from surface ships and Navy submarines, have been a central tool in US military operations for years. They can hit targets over 1,000 miles away, reducing the need to send pilots into heavily defended airspace. But only a few hundred are produced each year, and the Pentagon does not make public the exact number of missiles in inventory.

According to US officials quoted in the report, the Pentagon is increasingly monitoring the rate of consumption of these missiles, both in relation to the campaign against Iran and in view of possible future military operations. One official described the number of Tomahawks deployed in the Middle East as 'alarming', while another said that without intervention, the Pentagon is approaching the condition referred to in military jargon as 'Winchester', i.e. ammunition exhaustion, with regard to the Tomahawk stockpile in the region.

NEW DELHI - "He is meticulous, but he is not a visionary". Less than a year ago, a former high-ranking Indian intelligence official described Asim Munir, the Pakistani army chief and the protagonist these days of a brokerage attempt between the US and Iran. In underestimating Munir - or in overestimating the current times - the former Indian agent has certainly made a big mistake. But at least he can console himself with the fact that he is in good company.

The first to commit the same blunder were those who saw his education as an insurmountable obstacle to reaching the top of the Pakistani military establishment. Unlike his predecessors, Munir is not a product of the prestigious Pakistan Military Academy in Abbottabad (the city that became famous for being Osama bin Laden's buen retiro), but of the more modest Officers Training School in Mangla, a small town in the portion of Kashmir administered by Pakistan on the border with India. Not periphery of the empire, but almost.

Ukraine towards security agreement with Gulf, wants to involve China

Ukraine is close to concluding several security agreements, in particular with the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, to strengthen defence against threats such as Iranian attacks, and is also looking at a possible involvement of China in peace efforts with Russia. This was stated by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on the sidelines of the G7 in France, stressing that "it is important not to lose the global focus on Ukraine, because everything is interconnected", in light of the escalation in the Middle East.

Kiev aims to consolidate international support as the war with Russia enters its fifth year and uncertainty grows over the military commitment of the United States, which is also engaged in the conflict with Iran.

Sybiha explained that there are already draft agreements with several Gulf countries, particularly on technological cooperation and unmanned systems. "We hope that during the visit some of these documents can be finalised and finalised," he said.

The most advanced negotiations are with the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, there are also ongoing contacts with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan and Oman. "Because they are the ones who suffer the most from Iran's attacks," he noted.

According to the minister, the Gulf countries have used over 800 Patriot missiles since the beginning of the conflict to defend themselves and are interested in the Ukrainian experience in neutralising Russian drones and missiles.

Kiev is also trying to clarify the level of support provided by Moscow to Tehran, believing that it includes intelligence, spare parts, drones, and sharing military expertise.

On the diplomatic front, Sybiha reiterated the 'crucial' role of the US in the mediation, but admitted that negotiations appear stalled, opening up the possibility of greater Chinese involvement. "We would welcome any effort by our Chinese colleagues to end this war and reach a ceasefire," he said.

Sybiha reported that he had been invited to China: 'We are working through diplomatic channels to set a date,' expressing the hope that the visit could take place within the next two months.

Trump: still 3,554 targets to hit

Donald Trump stated that the US military still has 3,554 targets left to strike in Iran to complete the military operation against the Islamic Republic.

"We still have 3,554 targets to hit, and this will be done very cleanly," Trump said during a forum in Miami. The US president did not provide any specific data to support the statement and did not refer to either official Pentagon reports or information from the intelligence community.

Earlier, the US Central Command, Centcom, had claimed that Washington had hit more than 10,000 targets in Iran since the start of the military operation against the Islamic Republic, including 92% of the Iranian Navy's main units.

The last amphibious operations conducted by the United States date back to the 2003 Iraq War, when American troops took control of oil facilities on the Al Faw Peninsula and met only little resistance, but to find the most recent large-scale amphibious attack scenario under enemy bombardment one has to go back as far as the Battle of Okinawa in 1945.

Now, this option is coming up again in the Iran war with the scenario of an American assault on Kharg Island.

Israel intercepts missile from Yemen

Israel intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, the first such incident since the Middle East conflict began on 28 February. The event increases concerns about a possible direct entry into the conflict of the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels. In the past, the Houthis had already hit shipping traffic in the Red Sea during the war between Israel and Hamas, causing severe disruption to trade routes.

Back in the field JD Vance sceptical about the conflict, preferred by the Iranians

Il vicepresidente americano JD Vance APN

The key player in the diplomatic game over the Iran war is an unexpected, indeed hitherto marginalised name: Vice President JD Vance. A role due not to aggressive international ambitions, but rather to opposing credentials, as a sceptic of American interventions abroad, a vocal champion of a radical but more isolationist Maga conservatism.

It was Trump who suddenly accounted for the 41-year-old Vance's return to the spotlight. Listing his emissaries on Iran, he mentioned him alongside neocon redux hawk Marco Rubio and personal envoys, son-in-law Jared Kushner and friend Steve Witkoff. Mention all the more significant because Trump acknowledged Vance's lesser 'enthusiasm' for the attack on Tehran.

Wsj, US towards 17,000 troops in Middle East, ready for Iran

The Pentagon is considering deploying an additional 10,000 troops to the Middle East. If it goes ahead, the US could soon find itself with 17,000 troops in the area: not enough for an invasion, but enough to seize part of the territory, secure Iranian uranium, and take control of one of Tehran's islands. The Wall Street Journal reports this, pointing out that Donald Trump has not ordered the deployment of ground troops, preferring the diplomatic route for the time being.

According to Axios reports, Rubio with the G7 foreign ministers spoke of '2-4 weeks' of conflict before the end.
