Missoni remains Italian: Fsi becomes controlling shareholder

Share re-investment for the Missoni group. The Made In Italy jewel, which has been a symbol of Italian creativity, style and luxury since 1953, remains the heritage of Italia thanks to the reinvestment of Fsi, the largest single-country investment fund in Europe.

In a surprise move, but one that was constructed and studied down to the smallest detail, Fsi did not hand the company over to the Americans, but grew in capital by becoming a majority shareholder and entered into an industrial partnership with the Fassin (Sicilian-born) and Bachmueller families, who acquired around 25 per cent through their holding company Katjes Quiet Luxury.

Quiet Luxury, former owner of the prestigious luxury clothing brand Bogner, competitor of Moncler, now a star at the Milan Cortina Olympics and in the 1970s-80s the symbol of Roger Moore's breathtaking 007 ski scenes in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Missoni was on the radar of industrial groups and sovereign wealth funds, after a path that, despite the covid, led it to double its turnover (to around 130 million euro) and achieve significant profitability, with an EBITDA expected to be around 20 million euro this year. The spring/summer and autumn/winter 26 collections, by creative director Alberto Caliri, both recorded +30%, doing better than many of the major brands.

Now a further growth plan with new resources, under the sign of continuity at the helm of the pairing of Livio Proli (25 years with Giorgio Armani) as CEO, and Barnaba Ravanne, co-founder of Fsi, as Chairman. With them, the entire management team that has made this extraordinary Italia growth project possible is confirmed.
