Two giants from Bergamo to create a personal transporter for those with walking problems. An electric two-wheeler that redefines mobility standards, from the medical sector to urban micro-mobility. This is how the Ticino-based Genny Factory Sa chose a supply chain totally made in Italy, collaborating with RadiciGroup and Acerbis to fine-tune numerous structural and aesthetic parts of the vehicle.

"More than 20 million wheelchairs are currently produced around the world every year," emphasised Paolo Badano, CEO of Genny Factory Sa, "and with Genny Zero we intend to revolutionise this market, introducing a product that combines cutting-edge design and pioneering technology, redefining industry standards. Inspired by a self-balancing mobility solution to be ridden standing up, the company has created a product that overcomes traditional limitations, making the technology accessible even to people with reduced mobility.

RadiciGroup supplied ultra-high-performance engineering polymers and supported the entire design process through its Engineering Service - an in-house engineering service that uses advanced numerical simulation systems to predict the behaviour of manufactured goods from the earliest stages of their development and optimise the design - with the aim of replacing the metal parts of the very first Genny Zero prototypes with its own materials.

"The use of our engineering polymers also made a good contribution to the goal of reducing the weight of Genny, now at 60 kilos compared to the starting weight of 110," said Claudio Ghilardi, RadiciGroup marketing sector focal team leader. Great attention was also paid to aesthetics, particularly for the fairings and the rear end.

From the formulation of the materials to the creation of the moulds, from the injection moulding process to the testing of the various components RadiciGroup worked closely with Acerbis.

"Participating in this partnership for the development of such a technologically advanced product makes us proud," emphasised Guido Acerbis, Acerbis' CEO. "The design challenge was ambitious and we managed to combine functionality and mechanical performance, together with innovative materials and a dynamic and modern design for the sector.
