The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the hospital of Baggiovara in Modena to visit the injured in yesterday afternoon's massacre. Also in town were Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Chief of Police-Director General of Public Security Vittorio Pisani, who had arrived to attend a summit in the prefecture. "Clearly, the investigators will make further inquiries," but the fact seems to be placeable "in asituation of psychiatric distress," Piantedosi said at the end of the meeting, referring to the tragic gesture of Salim El Koudri, the 31-year-old who on Saturday in Modena ran over several passers-by. "It does not change the tragic nature of the effects and what happened, indeed in some ways it is worrying", but "for the job we are given to do, recording that there was nothing we missed from the point of view of anti-terrorism prevention comforts us", he added.

Easing up repatriations for foreigners who commit crimes?
