Meloni: 'Making a quantum leap, anticipating crises and not just reacting'
Taking part in the morning panel 'Maintaining European unity and coherence in times of polycrisis', the PM emphasised that 'migration is an integral part of the polycrisis, no one can tackle it alone. Cooperation is therefore crucial. In recent years we have taken very important steps forward at EU level'. 'At the EU level in recent years we have demonstrated our ability to respond to emergencies, with the pandemic crisis, with Ukraine. But,' he added, 'I also think that now we have to make a qualitative leap. This means moving from our ability to react to our ability to anticipate'.
"Fight traffickers, avoid repeat of 2015 crisis"
On the subject of migration management, Meloni said: "We must fight the traffickers, we must avoid a new crisis like the one we had in 2015, and we must cooperate with the countries of origin and transit
