Monterey Car Week 2026: much more than just a motor show – California showcases the most exclusive new models
From 7 to 16 August, Monterey becomes the motoring capital of the world. It’s not just about million-dollar classics, auctions and historic races: The Quail and Pebble Beach have now become prime venues for unveiling supercars, hypercars and concept cars. Among the new models for 2026, the Lamborghini Revuelto SV, a new Acura concept, the Bugatti Destrier and the new Kimera K-39 stand out.
Key points
The real motor show is under the Californian sun. Forget traditional motor shows. If you want to understand where the world of sports cars, hypercars and, more generally, luxury cars is heading, you need to head to California in August. Monterey Car Week, scheduled for 7–16 August 2026, transforms the Pacific-facing peninsula into a vast open-air exhibition for ten days – with no exhibition halls, but with lawns, golf clubs, villas, racetracks and roads teeming with cars that elsewhere we would only see in a museum or in the collection of some billionaire.
The grand finale, as it has been for 75 years now, is scheduled for Sunday 16 August to mark the three-quarter-century anniversary of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, on the famous 18th-hole fairway at Pebble Beach Golf Links. A symbolic anniversary which this year coincides with two other very American milestones: the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and the 250th anniversary of the United States.
But Monterey is no longer just about the past. Pebble Beach now regularly hosts concept cars and new models, whilst *The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering*, scheduled for Friday 14 August, has announced over a dozen world premieres for this year’s event.
Lamborghini: the Revuelto SV is here
Among the most eagerly awaited new models is the Lamborghini Revuelto SV, an extreme interpretation of the V12 hybrid supercar from Sant’Agata Bolognese. The suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres have also been modified, whilst a more powerful evolution of the Revuelto’s 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 hybrid powertrain is expected.
Monterey will also be the venue for the celebrations marking the Miura’s 60th anniversary.
