At least one person has been confirmed dead following the shooting at the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan. First reconstruction of the facts
.In an initial reconstruction of the events, the police chief of Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, William Renye, reported that the perpetrator of the attack on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a 40-year-old man from Burton, Michigan. The man drove his car into the church and then started firing an assault rifle. He was neutralised shortly afterwards by the police, but still managed to set fire to the building. Pictures taken by residents and posted on social media show dense columns of smoke rising from the church in Grand Blanc. The fire brigade managed to extinguish the flames after about an hour, but the police fear that the fire may have caused more casualties. People were trapped in the church and killed by the fire or mortally wounded by the attacker. It is not clear what the motive of the attack was.
