Top law firms, 2026 survey kicks off: here's how to participate
The eighth edition of the Statista survey kicks off. Reports can be submitted until 11 January 2026
The law firms survey of the year's most reported law firms is back. Until 11 January 2026, in fact, it will be possible to send in reports of law firms that have distinguished themselves in a particular area or territory. The survey, carried out by Statista (a German survey company specialising in data collection and processing) for Il Sole 24 Ore, is now in its eighth edition.
The painting
Open to all lawyers, corporate lawyers and clients, the survey is based on a peer-to-peer methodology. Thus, the presence on the "Law Firms of the Year 2026" list will depend on signatures received from other lawyers, corporate lawyers and clients. In fact, this year too, the goal for participants is to indicate law firms deemed excellent - except, of course, their own - both in a single practice and in the territory.
Also for this year's edition, Statista will carry out a series of additional checks to avoid multiple or cross-reporting and to reinforce compliance with the rules of the peer-to-peer methodology. Any irregular reports will be identified and will not be considered in the analysis. The lists of the most reported firms will be published in May 2026 within a Sole 24 Ore Report (both in the print and online editions), accompanied by sector focus, analysis and other insights.
The structure of the survey

C’è la possibilità di segnalare studi legali anche in base alla collocazione geografica, con un focus particolare per Roma e Milano.
How to report studies
The survey moves on several fronts. The first is a series of industry professionals that Statista has selected through its databases or who have already been indicated in previous editions and to whom the company will directly send an invitation to participate by filling out the questionnaire.
