Moto Guzzi unveils the new roadster, ‘The Trip’
The Trip marks a turning point for Moto Guzzi, which is bidding farewell to the transverse V-engine: the new roadster is fitted with a parallel-twin engine
Unveiled at (LINK) at EICMA 2026 and due to arrive in dealerships in early 2027, the new Moto Guzzi The Trip marks a revolution for the Mandello del Lario-based manufacturer, which has abandoned the transverse V-twin engine in favour of the 457 cc parallel-twin engine developed by Aprilia. It delivers 48 cavalli, making The Trip compatible with an A2 licence, whilst the power delivery has been tuned to prioritise low-end torque and smooth progression – characteristics that should make the bike suitable for both daily commuting and trips out of town. The electronic control system includes Ride-by-Wire throttle control and three riding modes: Road, Sport and Rain, which can be selected depending on the route and road conditions.
The aim is to offer a motorbike that combines the character of the Mandello del Lario-based brand with greater ease of use, without compromising on riding pleasure. The figures confirm this approach: 180 kg kerb weight (i.e. with the 15-litre fuel tank full) and a seat height of 790 mm from the ground – figures that should enhance manoeuvrability and accessibility, even for less experienced riders.
Aesthetically speaking, the 15-litre metal fuel tank, the full-LED headlight assembly featuring the reimagined iconic eagle, and the black-painted twin-cylinder engine come together to create a design that strikes a balance between tradition and modernity. The instrument panel features a 3.6-inch circular TFT display with smartphone connectivity, flanked by backlit handlebar controls.
