Motorola Edge 60 is a pleasant-smelling fashion smartphone

Motorola Edge 60 Pro can be considered a new category of fashion phone, a mobile phone, colourful, pleasant to the touch and smell. That's right: when you take it out of the packaging it stands out because it emits a scent similar to a marine fragrance. The model we tested is 'Dazzling Blue', i.e. a 1980s electric blue with a knurled plastic back shell that offers a pleasant grip. The smartphone is also available in different finishes such as vegan leather and canvas. We are therefore talking about a premium phone that wants to stand out in terms of aesthetics and materials, and succeeds in doing so. On a technical level, too, it is not bad even if the performance is not only top notch. The display is a 6.7-inch p-OLED panel with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels (444 ppi), adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz, peak brightness of 4500 nits, HDR10+ and DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, the device offers IP68/IP69 certifications and MIL-STD-810H military resistance, with a weight of 186 grams and a thickness of only 8.2 mm. Performance in daily use and multitasking is smooth, and even under intense gaming conditions the device maintains acceptable temperatures without noticeable drops in performance.

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro has a good photo compartment, featuring a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 700C main sensor with optical stabilisation, flanked by a 50 MP ultra-wide camera that also handles macro modes and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is also 50 MP, capable of shooting video up to 4K resolution. The photo algorithms benefit from Pantone validation and the Photo Enhancement Engine, greatly improving results in terms of colour fidelity and detail. The real strong point, however, is the battery with an impressive 6000 mAh that allows more than two days of autonomy with moderate use, easily reaching 6-10 hours of screen time. The Android 15-based software guarantees three major updates and four years of security updates. On the Ai side, on the other hand, it is still too early to judge; the integration with Perplexity AI Pro is only free for three months and apart from Gemini it will be necessary to wait for consistent optimisation. The price, on the other hand, is right: listed and in the 12/512GB version we are at EUR 649.
