MPS: Board gives the go-ahead for spin-off and demerger with Mediobanca Premier and Widiba

The board of directors of Monte dei Paschi has given the go-ahead for a number of steps ahead of the merger with Mediobanca. Specifically, these include the demerger, by spin-off, of Banca Mps into Mediobanca Premier, and the partial demerger of Mediobanca Premier into Widiba. The board reached a unanimous decision, according to a statement. Today’s decisions follow those taken last February regarding the reorganisation, which, in addition to the merger by incorporation of Mediobanca into Banca Mps, also provides for the integration of the financial adviser networks of Widiba and Mediobanca Premier.
