Generali: MPS’s proposal regarding B. Generali has not been agreed upon; we will consider it
‘Wide-ranging industrial collaboration envisaged’
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - ‘Generali confirms – in line with its ongoing assessment of initiatives aimed at creating value for all stakeholders – its willingness to consider the proposal from MPS, which envisages broader industrial collaboration aimed at developing new growth opportunities in business areas of strategic importance to both companies”. This is according to a statement from Generali regarding the public offer launched by MPS for Banca Generali, in which the insurance group holds a 50.2 per cent stake. Generali also confirms “that it has initiated a process aimed at thoroughly assessing the commercial, economic and value implications of the offer, which was neither solicited nor agreed in advance”. These processes – the statement concludes – “will be conducted in full compliance with the Group’s procedure governing transactions with related parties”.
