In Trento, the outgoing mayor, the former secretary of the provincial CGIL, Franco Ianeselli, is reconfirmed in the first round (as happened five years ago), in Bolzano, the centre-right has a real chance of electing the mayor: the outgoing municipal councillor Claudio Corrarati will have the advantage in the runoff in a fortnight' time.
Trento remains with the centre-left
.Trento therefore remains with the centre-left. Ianeselli is going towards reconfirmation with over 54% of the consensus, doubling the centre-right candidate Ilaria Goio who stopped at 25.4%. The PD confirmed itself as the first party in the capital (24.8% of votes), while Fratelli d'Italia reached 14.3% and the League stopped at 4.3%.
Ballot in Bolzano
.In Bolzano, as mentioned, there will be a runoff on 18 May between the outgoing municipal councillor Juri Andriollo (27.3%) and, for the centre-right, Claudio Corrarati (36.2%), who for many years headed the South Tyrolean CNA. The Svp will tip the scales with 16.1%.
Südtiroler Volkspartei remains the leading party in Bolzano, followed by Fratelli d'Italia with (15.4%) and La Civica (12.9%), while the Partito democratico follows in fourth place with 12.6%. In previous elections, the Svp with 14.8% was followed by the Lega with 13.2% - which lost 8.2% of the vote in this election round - and the Pd with 12.6%, which remains stable. Then came Fratelli d'Italia, which doubled its consensus, and La Civica, which increased by 4.6%.
Also decisive for the final result will be the voting indications that will come from La Civica: "The votes are not ours but the voters', let them decide," said Angelo Gennaccaro. At the regional level Gennaccaro governs with Svp and the centre-right, at the municipal level so far with Svp and the centre-left. "Even in the past we have never given any indication of voting," recalls the regional councillor, who as mayoral candidate achieved 12.51 per cent of the vote.
