Mur: 60,000 places ready for initial training and qualification of teachers

Approximately 60,000 places have been authorised for the activation of initial training and qualification courses for teachers for the academic year 2025-26.

The Minister for Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, has signed the decree (number 138 of 27 January 2026 ) setting out the provisions for the launch of teaching qualification courses for university institutions and Afam (the Alta Formazione Artistica, Musicale e Coreutica - Higher Artistic, Musical and Choreographic Education). As you will recall, the new initial training and qualification procedure, introduced in compliance with the NRP, provides for the acquisition of 60 Cfu in addition to the degree.

The university and academic pathways are aimed at teachers of ordinary posts in first and second grade secondary schools. The places also include technical-practical teaching. Minister Bernini also signed the decree - number 137 of 26 January 2026 - which identifies the reserve of places for access to the pathways regarding specific categories of teachers.

The training offer of university and academic initial training and qualification courses for teachers provided by universities and Afam institutions is articulated with courses of no less than 60 credits and with courses pre-determined for the acquisition of 30 credits.

Each candidate may apply for courses relating to the same competition class in only one institution. For the acquisition of each CFU or CFA of practical training, a twelve-hour commitment in class groups is envisaged.
