What we learned yesterday / 1: the identity of the victims

What we learned yesterday / 2: Kaufmann and Co. took €863,000 from the Mic for a film that was never made
.With other potential accomplices - the identity mentions the Italian company Coevolutions as Italian-foreign co-productions were being financed - Kaufmann obtained a tax credit of 863,000 euro of public funds from the Ministry of Culture for a film that was never made: 'Stars of the Night'. In 2020, through the Maltese company Tintagel Films, founded by Kaufmann under the false name Rexal Ford, he obtained a tax credit equal to 40% of the expenses incurred month by month, i.e. approximately 863,595.90 euro. The tax credit is calculated on the costs incurred, so invoices for about EUR 2.15 million were submitted.
The funding was obtained through the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual, with a decree signed by the Director General Nicola Borrelli on 27 November 2020. Minister of Culture was Dario Franceschini (Conte bis).
