Musk wants to launch Grokpedia, the 'right-wing' alternative to Wikipedia
The announcement made on X by the South African-born tycoon: 'Wikipedia is biased, an army of left-wing activists compiles biographies'
"Grokipedia. Unbiased information for everyone'. It is not Elon Musk, the founder of Grok, the artificial intelligence of X, who launches it. But it is a user on social, who adds a message to Wikipedia: 'Should have accepted Musk's billion-dollar offer, but it's too late, rival is coming'.
A few hours later came the confirmation, posted by Musk himself on X: 'We are building Grokipedia. It will be a huge improvement'. For years, Musk has criticised Wikipedia for being deviant and 'woke'. And the announcement is also an opportunity to highlight a user's post against the online encyclopaedia founded in 2001. 'It is hopelessly biased,' it reads, 'an army army of left-wing activists who take over biographies and oppose any reasonable correction. To make matters even worse, Wikipedia often appears first in Google search results and is now a trusted source for training artificial intelligence models. This is a huge problem'.
In the announcement post, Musk emphasises how important it is for his companies to expand further. "Frankly, it is a necessary step towards xAI's goal of understanding the Universe". Indeed, with his start-up company established two years ago, there are several open projects. And the consequence would be a flight of employees, an 'exodus' according to the Financial Times, due to the incessant demands and its political activism with Donald Trump and European far-right forces.
