Nanocar Silence S04, the electric microcar on sale at Nissan dealerships

 No heir at the moment for the Nissan Micra but a compact electric microcar suitable for the city. Nissan is relying on partnerships to offer its customers an alternative suitable for urban traffic. And it does so by marketing the Silence S04 electric microcar, in 11 dealerships nationwide, in L6e re L7e versions. Characterised by extremely compact dimensions, a removable battery and drivable from 14 to 16 years of age depending on the version, the Silence S04 is ready to challenge models such as the Fiat Topolino, Citroen Ami and Microlino;

The dimensions of the Nanocar Silence S04 are perfect for urban traffic, with a length of 2.28 m, a width of 1.27 m, a height of 1.57 m and a turning radius of just 3.5 metres. On-board equipment is good for the category, with air conditioning, electric windows, audio system, steering wheel controls and smartphone charger. The driver's airbag is missing, however, as is the ABS, the latter present on the Chinese competitor Xev Yoyo. The cars are equipped with Bluetooth to connect with the smartphone, to manage calls, travel routes and the music playlist. In addition, the My Silence app offers customers a range of state-of-the-art digital services, including keyless access, vehicle tracking, range monitoring and battery charge status. Also via the app, customers can connect with their community and share access to their vehicle using the digital key, without the use of physical keys;

Two variants are available: L6e - driveable from the age of 14 with an AM licence - and L7e - driveable from the age of 16 with a B1 licence. The L6e offers only one 6 kW electric motor option, which allows a top speed of 45 km/h. The version

with a single battery provides a range of 80 km, while with two batteries the range is up to 175 km. Two different options are available on the L7e: a 7 kW motor combined with a single battery, which allows a maximum speed of 70 km/h and a range of 70 km. And a 14 kW motor combined with two batteries, which guarantees a maximum speed of 85 km/h and a range of 149 km.

The Silence S04s are the only light electric vehicles with a removable battery that can be transported on a special trolley. They all have a 5.6 kW battery capacity and can be recharged at home or at public charging stations equipped with an AC socket, with a full recharge time of 7 to 9 hours. In addition, in future it will be possible to replace a discharged battery with a charge in just 30 seconds at exchange stations in the participating Nissan network;
