A single national WhatsApp number powered by artificial intelligence is being launched, dedicated to booking taxi services. The initiative was agreed upon during a meeting of representatives from the leading Italian RadioTaxi companies that use Digitax’s technology for taxi drivers (Milan, Catania, Palermo, Cagliari, Rome and Naples) at the company’s headquarters in Porto Recanati (Macerata). This was announced in a press release.

The new WhatsApp channel will be available in all cities covered by the Digitax network, where users will be able to request a taxi in a matter of seconds, directly from their smartphone and without having to register. “Our hope is that an ever-increasing number of radio-dispatched taxis will decide to embrace this new shared vision. Joining forces at a national level through a universal tool such as WhatsApp allows us to offer a modern, fast and transparent alternative, enhancing the local taxi service and protecting Italian jobs from the advance of large multinational platforms,” say the organisers.
