Ndayé Kouagou at the Maramotti collection makes us doubt even ourselves
Heaven's truth, the French artist's first solo exhibition in Italia between polysemy and doubt, irreverence and transgression
Is it perhaps possible to detach oneself completely from the reality in which we live, in which we are immersed on a daily basis, to really distance oneself and be completely objective, unbiased, unaffected by the context?
Inspired by the narrative device of the photostory and including a video creation, three-dimensional elements and wall works Here & Elsewhere is the French artist's ambitious new production;
Known on social media as Young Black Romantics, self-taught, Ndayè Kouagou introduces universal themes and questions. He tells the protagonists of a simple story, four universal types in life and after death, guiding the viewer through the vicissitudes of and the vicissitudes of these characters - canine, human, physically disguised and psychologically revealed, archetypes of the Western world - whose destiny intertwines with the fate of the narrator in a hypothetical Paradise that mirrors the dynamics of the earthly world, subject to the intricate dilemmas of Judgement.
The inevitability of personal opinions
Kouagou, unveils, with irony, the inevitability of personal opinions a single definition of right and wrong, and invites us to reason around the concept of truth and fiction.
