Nestlé sells its supplements division to Yellow Wood Partners for one billion
Seven brands sold to the private equity firm that owns Dr. Scholl’s
Nestlé has reached an agreement to sell its core vitamins, minerals and supplements division – the ‘holistic health’ portfolio – to Yellow Wood Partners for 1 billion dollars (0.8 billion Swiss francs). Yellow Wood is a leading private equity firm in the consumer goods sector whose portfolio includes brands such as Dr. Scholl’s. According to a statement from the Swiss multinational, the transaction is expected to be completed by the first half of 2027.
“This marks another important milestone in the strategic transformation of our portfolio,” said Philipp Navratil, Nestlé’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are prioritising the allocation of our resources to areas where we have the greatest competitive advantage. Thanks to Nestlé’s strong capabilities in innovation and brand development, we are well positioned to continue our growth in the science-based premium segment of vitamins, minerals and dietary supplements, where brands such as Solgar and Pure Encapsulations continue to perform strongly. At the same time, the category has evolved and the mass-market health products business requires a different approach, under the leadership of a dedicated owner.”
The transaction comprises seven brands: Nature’s Bounty, Osteo Bi-Flex, Ester-C, Gard, Nuun, Puritan’s Pride and Sisu, as well as the associated US private-label dietary supplements business, together with the operations dedicated to manufacturing, packaging, warehousing and distribution. In 2025, the business generated a turnover of $1.2 billion and operates primarily in the United States, with a presence in numerous other countries, including Canada and China.
